Sudheer,

What version is your DB2 Server and DB2 Client?

Have you tried connecting to your database through the DB2 Client instead of Toad? If so what message is returned there?

Thanks,
Eric Sheridan

As previous posts have asked - supplying additional information will assist in  problem determination such as:

- what version is your DB2 client?

- do you have multiple DB2 clients installed, If so what is your default?

- what is the bitness of your default DB2 client (32 or 64)?

- does Toad see your cataloged connections?

- can you catalog any additional connections in Toad?

- can you export and post your windows registry at:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\IBM\DB2

and/or

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\DB2

Thanks

Thanks Jeff. There was a parameter error, but using your instructions I was able to manually add the tasks and they are now up and running. It was a great help toi an acute problem.

RE: I would like to add the time to an Excel sheet in the 24 hour format

Hello Shimon,

Could you please clarify: do you want to append it to sheet name? Or file name? Because the subject mentions "Excel sheet" but you wrote "date and time appended to the file"...

For file name there is the datetime suffix in the drop down of "Select to file" activity and for the sheet name you can click on the "Advanced properties" button located below the drop down and there you can check the option to add a timestamp. So when you are asking about AM/PM specifically i assume you know about these options and that the 24h format does not work for you - could you please confirm this?

Martin

Hi Martin,

I confirm that you understood correctly. I edited the subject of the post to "file" instead of sheet.

Can you extract your entire registry key hierarchy from the below point  into a file and post it

from:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\IBM\DB2

and/or

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\DB2

Hi Team,

I have installed Toad for DB2 Freeware 6.0 in one of our VM windows box and installed db2client and catalogued the databases.

I could see those catalogued databases in Toad for DB2 window but when I was trying to connect I am getting the following error.

Could anyone please help me to check and suggest me what could be the issue.

RE: I would like to add the time to an Excel file in the 24 hour format

I believe that the "HH" format specifier in the combo box represents 12h format which doesn't make much sense as there is not am/pm indicator, i will create a new task to get this changed for the future.

As a workaround please add SetVariable activity at the beginning of your script, add a string variable with the expression: DateTime('YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS'). Note that the HH24 format specifier represents the 24h format. Once you do it, then append the file name manually, like this: x:\Path\To\My\File\myReport_#myDateVar#.xlsx and let me know whether it helps for now.

I would like to add the time to an Excel file in the 24 hour format

Hi,

When running an automation script that saves a SQL result to an excel file, there is the option of having the date and time appended to the file.

Is there any way to have the 24H format written?

In fact, is there a way to add AM / PM?

Thanks,

Shimon

RE: TOAD for DB2 z/OS licensing problem

Hi,

I have Toad 6.0 Z/OS base and 6.2 Trial version LUW expert installed side by side.

We just purchased a LUW expert license which came in the form of a long text file.

Any idea on how I use this license?

Do I have to install a different version or can I apply this license to the Trial Version?

My guess is that I should save the license as a text file in some directory, but I got no instructions how or where to save the file to.

Thanks,

Shimon

It seems your issue is resolved.

However for future use, when you receive a license you can apply that within Toad via Help - Licensing - Add License as shown below:

TOAD for DB2 V5.6 is working well.

I just installed TOAD for DB2 z/OS V6.0.0.373 with DB2 Server Client (win32) V10.5

Now, I got SQL Error when I tried to connect

DB2 Database Error

ERROR [42968] [IBM] SQL1598N  An attempt to connect to the database server failed because of a licensing problem.  SQLSTATE=42968

Anybody has idea?

Thanks
